New Journal Skin

is a difficult day to be writing a journal. I look at this space which asks me humbly to share my day with it, and I struggle. I have been trying to keep busy to detract from heartbreak. Hence making myself a new journal layout (do you like it? It was inspired by the webcam pic on DearPoetry's page but I don't know who made that so I made my own version)... but if I stop, or if I slow down, my mood crumbles.

I have music or television on constantly, but sometimes I catch myself singing along to a song (Neon Trees - Everybody Talks ♥) and smiling and then I remember. Like the smile invoked the memory, and then it's gone.

I am not the first person to go through a break up and I won't be the last, so I will hold it together and just stay busy. So I apologise if I post a lot or comment a lot or etc etc. I'm just trying to keep the sanity inside my skull.

KathrynODriscoll work is always a breath of fresh air. Her prose has a wonderful sense of momentum as well as elements of surprise; you can never be sure where the story is going and for this, reading her stories is wonderfully engaging.
